People in the record: what we hold, and your rights.
Celorus builds the infrastructure that makes an organization AI-native. Part of what it runs on is a record of the Indian business ecosystem: companies, and the people who run, own and advise them. If you are one of those people, this page is for you. It says what we hold about you, where it comes from, what it is used for, and how to ask us about any of it.
We cannot write to each of you. So we say it here.
The record covers a very large number of people, and for most of them we hold no address we would be entitled to use. Notice to each person is not possible at that scale. This page is our notice. It is public, it is dated, and every change to it is dated at the foot of the page. If you want to know what we hold about you, the route is further down this page.
Two kinds of record, kept apart.
Everything we hold about a person is one of two kinds, and we keep the two in separate places because your rights over them differ.
Facts from the public record. Things the law required someone to make public, or that you made public yourself. We hold them as the source gives them, with the source attached.
- Your name as a public record gives it, and the variations of it that records use.
- The roles the public record shows: a directorship, a partnership, a key management office, a shareholding, a professional registration, a membership or office in a club, association or committee, a place on a published list, and the dates and numbers the record gives for them.
- Remuneration, where a company was required to publish it.
- Events the public record shows: a share sale, an allotment, a listing, a buyback.
- Education and career history, where a public source states it.
- Links to profiles you have published in public, shown as you published them. A link that carries a phone number or a messaging handle is never shown as a profile link.
- Interests you have stated or shown in public.
- A parent's name, where a public record gives it. We keep it to tell people of the same name apart and to note the family link the record itself states. It is never shown as a field of its own unless that parent appears in the public record in their own right.
Some public records carry more than we will ever show. A residential address, a date of birth, or a government identity number that appears in a public record is kept behind a wall in our people record and used only to tell people of the same name apart and to keep minors out. Where a public record shows a person is under eighteen, no profile is made and nothing about them is served on any person's view while that is so. A family date or tie a public source prints, such as a wedding date, is kept behind the same wall. A filed document we cite is shown as it was filed. Where we show where a person is, it is no finer than a city, with its state and country.
Phone numbers and email addresses. Where a public source printed a phone number or an email address, we hold it as printed, with its source, behind its own wall. It is shown only to a client account switched on for direct contact, and only to that desk. No other client sees the number or address; they may see that one was printed.
What we work out from those facts. We make these from the public record. Not all of them are made today; where one is, it is as described here.
- An estimate of the range your wealth falls in: a band, never a single figure.
- An estimate of how that wealth was likely built: earned, inherited, or held through family and business.
- Leads. A lead points a client to a person or a company at a moment that may matter, on a public signal such as money arriving from a sale, a new asset, a promotion or a job change. Each lead rests on a public record, as printed, with its source. It makes no statement about who anyone is.
- Where we estimate when an event that matters to a client, such as a sale, is likely to happen, the estimate is uncertain and carries its source.
- The connections the public record itself shows: who sits on a board with whom, who holds shares in what, who studied or worked alongside whom where a public source says so.
- A ranking that decides which records a client sees first for a given question. It is computed from the record described on this page.
Families, and people named in someone else's record. A family can be a lead. A family is shown as the people in it who appear in public records in their own right, with the ties a public record states between them. Each of those people is in the record like anyone else, and each tie is a connection. A public declaration sometimes names someone who does not: a spouse, a relative, a dependant. For that person we hold what the declaration says and nothing more. No profile, no contact details, no estimate, no ranking, no line of their own on any person's view. The rights on this page belong to that person directly. You do not have to be the subject of the record to use them, and you never have to prove a connection to the subject.
Every fact carries its source.
We can name the source of any field we hold about you, on request. The sources fall into a few groups.
- Public registers and public disclosures: the company register, professional registers, stock exchange disclosures, and other government publications.
- What you have published yourself: a profile link or a company biography.
- Credible published sources: the business press, annual reports and institutional publications.
Two lines we do not cross. We do not use leaked or hacked data, whatever form it reached the public in; a source of that kind is recorded as refused, and its contents never enter our systems. And we do not infer. Family, community, religion or caste are never guessed from a name, a surname, an address or a shared office. A relationship is recorded only where a public record states it.
Data a client gives us stays that client's. It never enriches the record anyone else sees.
Four purposes.
- To answer questions about a company and the people connected to it, with every answer carrying its source.
- To help our clients, financial institutions and advisory firms, decide whom to approach, when, and how to prepare for the conversation. Wealth reaches a client as a band, never a single figure for what a person is worth. Before an account is switched on for the wealth picture, the client signs a contract: no communication directed at a minor, and nothing of the client's comes back into the shared record. The material stays within the client's own desk.
- To tell people apart. Indian names repeat. The walled fields above exist so that a fact about one person is never attached to another.
- To keep the record accurate, and to act on the requests this page describes.
We offer nothing to the people in the record. Nothing on this page is an offer of goods or services to you.
What no client ever sees.
In the data we serve, whatever a client account is switched on for, it never sees:
- a residential address;
- a date of birth;
- any single figure for what a person is worth;
- a profile of anyone who appears only as another person's relative;
- a government identity number, such as a PAN or an Aadhaar number.
A filed document we cite is shown as it was filed.
What we hold back, and say so. On a person's profile, some lines are withheld from what a client sees: anything under dispute, and anything whose source we cannot show. When one of a person's roles may have ended, we hold back all of that person's roles, and the shares they hold as a director, rather than show one that may be over. The client is told how many lines were withheld, and why. A withheld line is never passed off as one that does not exist. Old roles and holdings are marked stale.
Two kinds of record, two answers.
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, object to it, or ask for it to be removed. The answer depends on which kind of record it is.
For what we worked out (the estimates, leads and rankings above) you hold every right. Ask, and we list each such record with its source. Ask for it to go, and we stop serving it to any client.
For a fact from the public record, we tell you which record it came from and point you at the register that published it. We do not alter a public record. We hold it as the register printed it when we last read it, with that date; tell us it has changed and we re-read it. If a fact on the register is wrong, the correction belongs with the Registrar of Companies, or whichever body keeps that register. The register stays as it is, but removal, below, still applies to what we serve about you.
Removal takes effect on our own records, and covers everything a client account sees about you as a person: the profile we built, with the estimates, roles and holdings shown on it; any lead about you; and any phone number or email address we hold for you. Your record is no longer served to clients. There is one exception. A company's own record still shows where the register places you: as a director on its board, as a holder in its disclosure. That fact is the register's.
If something we worked out about you is wrong, or should not exist.
What we worked out about you is ours, so the objection comes to us. Write to grievance@celorus.com and say what you object to. You may say why; you do not have to. A person reads it. While we look, the roles and holdings on your profile are held back.
If you want it taken further, reply on the same thread and say it is a grievance. It goes to the people who run the company, and you hear from one of them.
One address. A person answers.
Write to grievance@celorus.com. Say what you want: to know what we hold, to correct something, to object, or to be removed. Requests are read and handled by hand today, and we act on our own records. We do not promise a turnaround we cannot keep.
To act, we need to know the request comes from you. We never ask you to prove a connection to anyone else in the record.
India.
Celorus works from Indian public records. People are in the record because an Indian public record names them. We offer nothing to the people in the record, in India or anywhere else, and nothing we build is aimed at people outside India. If you live outside India and an Indian public record names you, this page and the routes on it apply to you in the same way.
